I was born and raised in Louisiana, earning my bachelors in nutrition from LSU. I moved to Texas in 2007 for graduate school; I earned my masters in Public Health in health promotion and program planning from The University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston. I live in the Houston area with my husband and 2 sons.
I have expertise in diabetes management as a certified diabetes educator. I have completed the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics certification in adult weight management. I also have experience with real food nutrition, weight loss surgery, food allergies and sensitivities, metabolic syndrome, lactation and pregnancy nutrition, family nutrition, supplements, and essential oils.
I have worked the last 7 years in a family practice setting providing individual and group nutrition therapy.
Both of my boys have food allergies, food sensitivities, and my youngest currently has FPIES (Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome); my oldest outgrew his FPIES reaction around 3.5 years old. As a mom to two kids who have had FPIES along with other food sensitivities, I have a lot of personal experience with coming up with food ideas that are nutritious, delicious, and whole family approved. We are all gluten free so I have experience with gluten free pregnancy, lactation, infancy, and toddler feeding. I have nursed two babies, both with difficulty, for at least 2 years. I can also offer nutrition advice to support and maintain lactation.
Walking the road with food allergies is HARD. Let me help you find your way.
